Iron ore buy below 40 denari, sell above 55 denari. Anything else if you see it low buy it, but dont stock up on it. Hit up fiefs that sell the item you want, it wont always be low price but the fiefs will not inflate the price if you buy it. IE; I find Iron ore at a fief at 28 denari each, with 120 ore.

Then, you can look for level 4 swords that only need 7 fine steel (or steel I forgot which one) and carft and sell those.
