At the beginning the Caravan Make profits for something like +50 of cash without wage cost for like a 7 days, after that Starting to get a net 0 income, after the update 1.4.3 beta, The Caravan started to give money for some days, then randomly I get a -250 for wage only for the Caravan Plus -150 for my party as always, giving me a negative income.
2. Each companion gets paid a hefty wage, and it only goes up as they increase in level. The wages for 1 low lvl companion is about equal to the wages of 20-30 recruits. 3. The troops in a companion party are still being paid by YOU, so making a companion party increased your expenses by alot.
looking at what villages produce doesn't help, I bought a winery next to a village that produces grapes and I took a -50 loss every day, you have to look at what the city has in stock and what the buy and sell price is for both items
Never pay for upgraded caravans. All that extra 7.5k does is upgrade a few caravan guards to veteran caravan guards. It doesn't increase the caravan size or anything else. Just not worth it. The other thing, they might be attacked by looters, but once the battle commences, every bandit group in the area will pile in.
I have failed this one more than seems correct. My reasons tend to be: Caravan moving faster than me (especially in 1.5.4 with the speed nerf). then getting killed by "something" off screen. Or It making it to the Bandits, and me sprinting as fast as my pathetic speed allows, and them all dying right as I arrive.

So far all in all with my 3 caravans and 2 workshops at the moment some days I make 4k+ after my 100man army is paid for or only 600$. do you mean if you can own a caravan under your name? yeah just hire a companion, go in a town to one of the merchants and tell him you want a caravan, then pay the 15K and have your dude in your party. from then on he will lead the caravan, if you are at war you shouldnt do that cause they get taken down fast, if you are not at war they ususally survive long enugh to make you a good plus.
